Who We Are
Ngalung Kalla was founded in 2014 by Christian and Ka'ale Sea, a passionate couple whose love for nature, healthy living, and the ocean has shaped the heart and soul of their regenerative, eco-retreat. Nestled on the stunning island of Sumba, Indonesia, the 300-hectare property is a living testament to the power of permaculture, a philosophy they have embraced with dedication and joy.
Their journey began with a shared desire to live in harmony with nature, to cultivate a sustainable lifestyle that honors the land and nurtures well-being. Through years of self-teaching, reading, and learning from incredible mentors, they developed a deep understanding of permaculture principles.
At Ngalung Kalla, they embrace the core principles of permaculture—care for the earth, care for people, and fair share—bringing them to life in every aspect of the retreat. The property is a vibrant ecosystem, where diverse plant species, water management systems, and sustainable building practices coexist to create an abundant, resilient environment. From agroforestry and organic farming to natural building techniques, they are constantly evolving our practices to regenerate the land and promote biodiversity.
Ngalung Kalla is not just a retreat; it's a place where visitors can reconnect with nature, learn about sustainable living, and experience the beauty of Sumba in its purest form. We invite you to explore, learn, and be inspired by the rhythms of the earth, the local culture, and the peaceful energy that flows through this sacred land.
